English is definitely the most important of the core groups of academics. People need English in anything they do in America, and need to be able to communicate effectively in order to hold a job, and to learn other subjects. It is fitting that you need 4 credits of English, because it is so essential. How English is done today is how it should be, with classes organized so that the learners can learn and the people who distract others aren't distracting the people with the most potential.
