History is as important as all the other core classes because it shows people which paths a society can take. It shows what works and what doesn't, meaning that when people are looking at what is happening in the world, or in their own State, they can use history to predict if the path the government is taking is a good one accurately. American History teaches Americans how their government works, which is as important as learning English, because if you don't know your rights, how can you be free?
